NedSense’s CEO, Pieter Aarts presented NedSense’s physical virtuality tool LOFT.tm that enables designers and manufacturers in textile and apparel to co-create personal virtual showrooms with their end customers (architects, buyers, etc.).

Pieter Aarts explained the basics of LOFT.tm and emphasized the business rationalism and the lessons learned to the eager and enthusiastic audience. “The key to profiting from it is to see it not as a standalone business strategy that replaces today’s production and distribution systems, but as a set of organizational capabilities that can supplement and enrich an existing system.”
MIT calls this paradigm of thinking smart customization. Only a few companies like NedSense (in accordance to MIT) are even going a step further and engage their customers in the co-creation of new assortments and product architectures.
